KCAAYKM I: The Dopey Meeting Scheduler

Welcome to the first part in a potentially infinite series that I am calling: “Keep Calm And… Are You Kidding Me?”. Join me on a journey through some of the biggest gripes that exist within technology, the human race, or both.

On any given day I have a decent amount of items on my work calendar between meetings, daily stand-ups, interviews, one-on-ones, and more. Viewing other’s calendars to find a time that works for them is the decent human thing to do before sending out a calendar invite. On this particular day, my calendar which is visible to anyone in the company for free / busy time blocks, looked like this:

I then received a calendar invitation at 10:23am that looked like this:

First of all, giving just 7 minutes notice for a meeting is that is not of critical importance is a dick move. I replied with a “No” and a response email that read:

And then received the following reply:

Keep calm and… are you kidding me?
